Snakes Alive! (& Dead)
The year 11 Biology class was given a lesson on
snake identification by snake expert, David. Melinko the carpet
python was the star "live exhibit". The king brown (mulga)
snake and the keelback snake are found in the Katherine area and
both are poisonous. The keelback is reputed to be able to eat
cane toads without being poisoned. It was a hands-on lesson with
students identifying the frozen snakes.
