Poor Flying Foxes

"As you are no doubt aware, a number of Black Flying Fox colonies have established themselves in various locations throughout Katherine East." Yep, there are thousands roosting in the trees in the parks near my house.

"Parks and Wildlife will attempt to remove the animals from these areas utilising a pyrotechnic round launched from a firearm called Birdfrite. This actiom will take place intermittently between first light and 11 am from Monday the 31st January, 2005 until 4th February, 2005" ..... They're obviously whingeing about the flying foxes again. My policy has been to get used to them and come to like these amazing flying foxes. They come and go at various times during the year. When they are here in large numbers, they return to their roosts in the mornings and hang about squabbling in the trees throughout the day. Just as it gets dark they all fly off to go hunting again. Yes, they are noisy, "dirty" and smelly but they've got to roost somewhere!
