Manngarre (Monsoon Rainforest)

A monsoon rainforest is adapted to Wet and Dry seasons. In Kakadu they are found in pockets near fresh water. Monsoon rainforests differ from other rainforests in that their trees are shorter and they are able to shed leaves to conserve water during the Dry season. There are also more vines in monsoon rainforests. This rainforest is on the banks of the East Alligator River which separates Kakadu National Park from Arnhem Land.
