Katherine Lorikeets

Lorikeets must be one of the prettiest birds in the world! As well as looking good, they are very social animals and born clowns. They talk to each other in loud screeches and perform all sorts of acrobatic manouvres to move from one flower to the next.

There are lorikeets in Katherine as well as Clybucca. But are they the same variety? (Scroll to the bottom of this page to see!)

We're coming to the end of the Dry. Some of the trees are losing leaves due to water stress but some are starting to flower. This is much appreciated by nectar eating birds like the red collared lorikeet and the blue faced honeyeater.
