Leliyn (Edith Falls)

About 50 km north of Katherine is Leliyn which is at the western end of Nitmiluk National Park. Ruby is a two year old agile wallaby from the Katherine area. She was orphaned as a tiny baby and lived with her human family for about nine months. Eventually she was released at Leliyn and is cared for by the ranger and kiosk owners. Thus she is totally tame and will talk to the tourists - she is always willing to pose for photos! Leliyn is named after the frilled-neck lizard by the Jayown people.
