Being Disturbed

This Birdfrite contraption is certainly stirring up the flying foxes. They are most disturbed. Last evening (29/1/2005), there were flying foxes all over the sky, flying around in confusion. When I listened I could hear the "pyrotechnic rounds" - must have been a practice run.

Even though the flying foxes were here for long periods in 2004, they are really hard to photograph. I don't do mornings and in the evenings, it is just about dark before large numbers take to the skies. But now that they are being disturbed, I can stand in my back yard and click away anywhere in the sky and I get flying fox photos!
