Anbangbang Walk

Lots of birds. The kingfishers are much smaller than the NSW kookaburras and they don't produce the glorious kookaburra laughing sound. The black cockatoos here have red feathers under their tails rather than the yellow of NSW black cockatoos but they still make the loud, raucous screeching noise. The rainbow bee eaters are gorgeous - so many different colours that seem to shimmer when they fly. They sit on a branch until they spy an insect and then dart off after it. They beat the insect to death against a branch and then eat it. Luckily they tend to return to the same branch so they are easier to photograph but the blue under their wings is best seen when they are flying.
