The Adelaide River

In the Dry, the Adelaide River is still big and very muddy. Kites are plentiful and when the cruise boat reaches a certain point, they all gather and wheel around the sky waiting for bits of meat. Then they swoop down to catch their "prey". There are a couple of different types of kite but the whistling kites are most noticeable because of their constant whistling. A sea eagle waits in a tree on the river bank and comes to get the pork chop intended for the crocodiles. Of course there are lots of crocodiles - males, females and babies. The babies are tiny and very hard to see on the muddy river bank.
